Floods 2023

Help for households that have suffered damage in floods.

GEN-I has responded to the initiative of the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy by reducing (from 1 August 2023 to 31 December 2023) the prices of electricity for household consumers who suffered damage due to flooding. Said lower price of electricity will amount to EUR 0.00100/kWh (without VAT). The price list can be found here.

In addition to the lower price of electricity, GEN-I d.o.o. has also decided not to invoice the monthly allowance or the additional payment for the selection of the energy source for any consumers affected by floods. These consumers will continue to benefit from their ECO discount and the discount in the framework of the “Tackling lower energy consumption together” campaign.

A central register is currently being set up at the national level. Lists of beneficiaries who will be able to pay lower prices of electricity due to the damage suffered will be prepared on the basis of said register. Since procedures are currently pending, we will invoice the costs for all measurement locations at an unchanged price until we receive the lists of beneficiaries. Once we receive the aforementioned lists, we will prepare a settlement for the household consumers who will be able to benefit from a reduced price, taking into consideration said lower prices.

TThe consumers whose properties were completely destroyed and where electricity consumption is not possible due to damaged electrical installations will not have to pay for the supplied electricity from 4 August 2023 until their electricity supply is restored.

If the electricity supply is restored by 31 December 2023 for a property that has been completely destroyed in the floods, a lower electricity price (0.1 cent/kWh) will be taken into consideration for said measurement location. The price list can be found here.

The electricity distribution operator. will obtain all the information about the damage caused to individual properties from the central register managed by the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Civic Protection and Disaster Relief for the purpose of reducing the prices of tariff lines of electricity operators for the calculation power and energy consumed as well as the prices of energy supplied during a certain period. The inventory of damages is prepared by municipal committees. Distribution operator will then divide end consumers into three groups:

  • consumers with mildly damaged properties
  • affected consumers with severely damaged properties
  • severely affected consumers whose properties have been completely destroyed and where energy consumption is no longer possible.

Distribution operator will provide the final list to GEN-I d.o.o. as the electricity supplier. Based on this list, all further measures will be taken in order to assist household consumers, whereby we will try our best to make the process as simple as possible for you.
